Since I usually get dressed at the gym, ironing isn’t an option. That’s when Downy Wrinkle Releaser® comes in handy. I am impressed at how quickly this simple (yet complex) spray takes my shirts and blouses from tired to tidy in literally no time. After spraying it on two badly schmooshed shirts, I tugged and smoothed for just a few seconds, left them hanging for a minute and wow- like I just ironed them! I can fit this kind of ironing into any bag.
If there were two cotton shirts hanging side by side in a store and only one had a tag that read, “wrinkle free”, you can bet your last dollar that I would buy that one. I hate wrinkles almost as much as I hate ironing. But for those occasion where my practical brain went on break and I bought something that wrinkles the second I put it on I am glad there is a product like Downy Wrinkle Releaser. All I have to do is spray it on and smooth it out a bit and it looks pressed. Here is my only beef with this product. It has a perfume smell that is overwhelming which really bothered me. If they ever make a fragrance free option I will be a happy, wrinkle free camper!
I iron semi-annually. Period. My dear husband even bought me a steamer which I thought was cool and imaged it would ‘iron’ out all my laundry woes. Nope. So I picked up a sample size Downy Wrinkle Releaser and brought with me on a recent girls trip to NYC. I tried it on a cotton sweater and it really did seem to smooth out the creases. I wish it would work on my husband’s dress shirts but it’s not for that sort of detail work. Sorry, DSP Lovey, but I liked the smell– it means I don’t have to wash the sweater as often now, especially because it may or may not have made an appearance or two at a smokey bar in the “City”.
It’s no wonder you’d be hard-up to find a true Domestic Square Peg who doesn’t adore a product that makes life just a tad bit simpler, so I predicted a fit on this one and my prediction was right on! But I have to admit, I’m not so sure the concept is that much more effective than simply spraying water on anything wrinkled. The point seems to “moisten” an item, smooth it out and let it dry. Full disclosure? Done that! Regardless, the concept is solid and if you happen to like the scent, you get the added bonus of freshening your clothing.
